About The Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Formwork Carpenter to join our growing team. The successful applicant will work on a variety of large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects, constructing and installing formwork systems to support reinforced concrete structures while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety across the following tasks:

  1. Studying plans, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures for residential building projects;
  2. Fabricating, constructing, and erecting timber frames, wall studs, roof trusses, and subfloors in accordance with engineering and architectural specifications;
  3. Cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and composite materials using hand and power tools to form structural components and fixtures;
  4. Installing floorboards, wall cladding, fascia boards, roof framing, and internal timber linings to ensure structural integrity and weather-tightness;
  5. Setting out building layouts and establishing levels using spirit levels, laser levels, and measuring tools for accurate structural framing;
  6. Installing door frames, doors, window frames, staircases, cabinetry, and internal architectural finishings (skirting, architraves, moulding);
  7. Liaising with the Site Supervisor, Project Manager, and sub-contractors to ensure construction progresses according to project schedules and architectural drawings;
  8. Inspecting and repairing damaged timber structures, framing, and fixtures across renovation and extension projects;
  9. Ensuring all structural framework and carpentry works comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards (e.g., AS 1684 for residential timber-framed construction), and local council regulations;
  10. Managing timber and hardware inventory on site, ensuring correct materials, fixings, and equipment are ordered, inspected, and safely stored;
  11. Adhering strictly to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, including the safe operation of power tools, erect scaffolding, and maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment;
  12. Conducting ongoing quality control checks on completed timber framing and fix-outs before hand-off to plasterers, painters and other finishing trades.

About The Candidate: The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III or relevant higher degree qualifications in related fields with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
