Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with building, erection and installation of wall frames and roof trusses, ensuring structural integrity and alignment with design plans
- Construct timber wall frames, roof trusses, floor joists, and subfloor systems
- Measure, cut, shape, and join timber and composite materials using hand tools and power equipment
- Conduct structural checks and quality assessments on completed framing, cladding, and fixtures
- Install exterior cladding, roofing materials, fascia boards, and guttering systems
- Fit internal fixtures including door frames, windows, skirtings, architraves, and staircases
- Construct timber formwork and scaffolding to support concrete structures during pour processes
- Install lining materials, wallboards, and insulation panels to internal building frames
- Repair, modify, or replace damaged structural timber elements in existing buildings
- Prepare building foundations, set out layout markers, and level ground supports
- Fit architectural hardware including locks, hinges, handles, and door closures
- Secure framing members using bolts, nails, screws, and structural adhesives
- Operate hand and power tools proficiently for cutting, shaping, and joining materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and drawings to ensure precision in construction
- Work closely with other tradespeople, contractors, and site supervisors to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain workplace health and safety standards by assessing risks and managing hazardous site conditions
- Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process, ensuring that work continues smoothly
- Inspect work sites to determine local requirements, material needs, and structural specifications
- Ensure all constructed structures comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards
About You:
- Modular home experience (preferred)
- Trade qualified - a qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV
- You have your own vehicle and tools
- Proficiency in hand and power tool operation relevant to timber construction
- Knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Spatial awareness and accurate mathematical calculation for measuring and cutting timber
- Strong physical stamina, coordination, and manual dexterity for structural timber work
- Experience with installing wall frames and roof trusses
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
- Drivers Licence, White Card, Forklift Licence
- Ability to adapt and thrive in different environments
- Understanding of risk management and workplace safety protocols on construction sites
- Willingness to travel extensively (both Domestic and International)
