Heavy Truck Drivers (ANZSCO: 733111)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

The company wishes to employ heavy truck drivers to work with our mining and Long Line Haul (East-West and North-West) clients

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Drive truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo or materials.
  2. Work in remote locations and drive long distances.
  3. Deliver goods via heavy haulage trucks, sometimes over interstate routes or spanning several states.
  4. Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain working operations, record any defects they find.
  5. Load and unload cargo with multiple drops.
  6. Secure proof of deliveries and return relevant paperwork to office timely.
  7. Ensure load restraint is performed as per heavy vehicle load restraint guide.
  8. Maintain radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
  9. Be efficient in completing the necessary delivery paperwork including run sheets and work diaries.
  10. Be able to take orders for new deliveries.
  11. Maintain truck log according to State and Federal regulations.
  12. Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
  13. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  14. Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows on completion of each trip.
  15. Keep record of materials and products transported.
  16. Keep a log of activities.
  17. Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  18. Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. AQF certificate II or III
  2. Valid Australian MC truck licence
  3. Minimum of 1 year recent heavy/multi-combination driving experience
  4. Able to work with, maintain and carry out general repairs and maintenance on pumps, metres and related equipment
  5. Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge Australia-wide
  6. Be highly reliable with a first-class approach to safety and customer service with good communication skills
  7. Fatigue Management Certificate
  8. Able to pass a drug and alcohol and pre-employment medical
  9. MSIC Card
  10. Load restraint certificate
  11. Require DG Licence or willing to obtain
  12. Dogs and chain experience
  13. Side and End Tipper experience
  14. BFM certificate is required or willing to obtain
  15. Forklift ticket is required or willing to obtain

Maintenance Planner (ANZSCO: 312911 – Maintenance Planner)

Full time/Permanent

$80,000 - $ 90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Compile and maintain an online system of all vehicles and related equipment (e.g. lifting equipment, cranes for lifting and loading onto trailers, hand-held equipment, manual transport equipment, ramps, straps, winches, chains and pulleys, etc) within the business
  2. Prepare preventive maintenance plans (the “plans”) that are aligned with the organization’s maintenance goals
  3. Generate work orders and create maintenance schedules to ensure the availability of resources to carry out relevant maintenance as per the plans
  4. Maintain sufficient inventory of parts needed to perform any planned and/or unplanned maintenance
  5. Inspect all facilities and equipment on a regular basis to prioritize needed maintenance before it becomes a problem
  6. Estimate costs of labour and parts
  7. Budget for and schedule any maintenance that must be performed on a regular basis and in cases of emergencies
  8. Serve as a liaison between maintenance personnel and vehicle operatives
  9. Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management
  10. Source, negotiate and develop service agreements with external maintenance providers
  11. Coordinate between maintenance providers, vehicle operatives and stakeholders involved in the provision of maintenance works
  12. Maintain a safe, efficient work environment for maintenance personnel, contractors and employees

Relevant Qualification/Experience

  1. Relevant AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience may replace the need to have a qualification
  2. Applicants with qualification will require a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Transport Manager (ANZSCO 149413 – Transport Company Manager)

Full time/Permanent

$80,000 - $ 90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Organise the purchase/lease of vehicles, parts, and fuel.
  2. Organise inspection and servicing of vehicles.
  3. Record and report maintenance and repair needs for vehicles and related equipment.
  4. Keep organized records of vehicles, service/repair schedules and authorise payments for completed orders.
  5. Ensure regular road-worthy and safety audits on vehicles and equipment.
  6. Monitor and report on transport and transportation costs and make necessary changes to reduce costs – with a view to improve the business’s bottom line.
  7. Organize training sessions for employees (e.g., proper licensing/permits; training in driving vehicles of various types & sizes; proper use of lifting/moving devices associated with vehicles)
  8. Stay up to date with safety regulations and train staff to adhere to them when handling or driving vehicles.
  9. Resolve transport and transportation issues in line with business and customers’ need e.g., arranging appropriate type of vehicles based on the type and quantity of the consignments.
  10. Lead and coordinate the activities associated with the loading and unloading of consignments.
