FULL-TIME BACKPACKER MANAGER

Urban Accommodation Group Pty Ltd is a leading provider of backpacker and budget accommodation services in Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Backpacker Manager to oversee the daily operations of our accommodation facility in Fremantle, Western Australia.
This is a full-time, ongoing management position offering an excellent opportunity to join a growing hospitality business and contribute to its continued success.

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per annum plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, directing and coordinating the overall operations of the backpacker accommodation facility, including:
•Managing the day-to-day operations of the hostel, including reservations, reception, housekeeping, maintenance and guest services;
•Developing and implementing operational procedures, service standards and business policies to ensure efficient and effective operations;
•Monitoring occupancy levels, revenue performance and operational costs to maximise profitability and business performance;
•Preparing budgets, controlling expenditure, managing procurement activities and monitoring inventory levels;
•Recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating staff performance to maintain high service standards and operational efficiency;
•Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, local government regulations, licensing obligations and company policies;
•Managing customer feedback, resolving complaints and implementing service improvements to enhance guest satisfaction;
•Overseeing property maintenance programs to ensure accommodation facilities remain safe, clean and well-presented;
•Managing online booking platforms, property management systems and accommodation distribution channels;
•Developing relationships with tourism operators, travel agents, educational institutions and other business partners to promote accommodation services and increase occupancy rates;
•Preparing operational reports and providing recommendations to senior management regarding business performance and future growth opportunities.
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, applicants should demonstrate:
•A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Management or a related field;
•At least three years of relevant management experience in accommodation, hostel, backpacker, hotel, motel or hospitality operations;
•Strong leadership, communication and people management skills;
•Experience managing budgets, staffing, customer service and operational performance;
•Knowledge of accommodation booking systems, property management software and hospitality industry practices;
•Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities;
•Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
