Power On Cabling is a fast-growing company who specialize in underground power asset installation, excavation, cable laying, earthworks & electrical installation.

Due to new contracts, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Project Manager this role will manage all aspects of estimating, with a key focus on client liaison.

Main duties will include:

  1. Identifying and following up relevant tender and job opportunities relevant to our business
  2. Reviewing incoming tenders and estimating on requirements with varying values
  3. Preparing and submitting expressions of interest and relevant proposals
  4. Scheduling and programming of works
  5. Developing competitive tenders, quotes, and value-based solutions
  6. Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications
  7. Managing tender documentation, budgets and reviewing contracts
  8. Working in compliance with each individual client’s standards
  9. Providing technical information for clients as requested
  10. Maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers
  11. Seeing work through from estimation to construction
  12. Attending meetings/site visits as required

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering (Desirable)
  2. Civil Construction Industry experience
  3. Expert estimator with strong knowledge and experience using MS Project, Excel, Adobe software, MS Word and Estimating Software Tools
  4. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  5. High level of negotiation and analytical skills
  6. Sound working knowledge of Project Management principles
  7. Effective time management of workflow to meet tender deadlines
  8. An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers
  9. Proven ability to work under pressure
  10. Ability to multi-task
  11. Capacity to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines
  12. Ability to work without management direction
  13. Ability to use initiative
  14. Possess positive attitude towards teamwork
  15. Physical ability to conduct site visits as required, sometimes to remote locations
  16. Current Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence
  17. Construction Awareness Induction Card (White / Blue Card)
