Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Systems Engineer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Hampton, Va on Joint Base Langley-Eustis and will be a fully onsite position.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help build out and maintain our rapidly expanding infrastructure and assist with the enterprise modernization. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. This position is located at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with customer, vendors, management and internal information technology (IT) team through the modernization of the enterprise systems.
  • Developing control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organization's quality standards
  • Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational
  • Train team on data security, troubleshooting processes and related skills
  • Create, install and support enterprise systems
  • Work with PMO to determine their computing and technology needs
  • Work with Portfolio Managers to manage projects and meet deliverables according to a set timeline
  • Technical proficiency, Strong understanding of various technologies, programming languages, and tools required for system development.
  • Communication skills, Clear and effective communication with stakeholders, team members, and clients to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Ability to multitask to manage problems and come up with innovative solutions.
  • Planning life cycle management for IT systems.


Qualifications

High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

Clearance: TS/SCI
  • Analytical skills, ability to analyze systems and identify opportunities for improvement or troubleshoot problems.
  • DOD 8140 IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting in computing environments.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, Docker)
  • Experience with automation software

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, systems engineering or related field experience.
  • Experience with DOD Networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS)
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g.Powershell)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
