CIM is looking for a freelance Level Verifier for Level 4 Qualifications.
About the role
As a Level Verifier you will provide level authority for the development of module content, assessment methodologies and assessments. You will also oversee, quality control and advise on the work of Contractors providing services as Senior Examiners, Subject Examiners, Assessment Writers and Content Writers.
- Provide input to the examining groups, assessment & content writers services profiles
- Advise and liaise with CIM on the procurement of Contractors. Provide training & mentoring throughout the Contractors'' appointment
- Advise on best practice for examining and content/assessment writing and Awarding Body processes.
- Assist with training days. Contribute to training support materials for Accredited Study Centres and Examiners
- Participate in training days and standardisation meetings, as agreed (online, teleconference or in person)
- Provide support with End-Point Assessment Moderations for Apprenticeships
- Provide necessary support to the CIM Awarding Body
- Oversee the marking of standardisation samples & meetings
- Mark and moderate assessments
- Accurately complete all associated examining admin tasks
- Liaise with Senior Examiners to ensure CIM regulatory procedures are followed
- Create and present Level Verifier reports for the examination board and report any feedback to the Senior Examiners
- Review Senior Examiners'' & Assessment Writers'' performance and outline development areas
- Write summary reports for candidates and Accredited Study Centres as required
- Advise on matters related to Contractors
- Contribute to module content & assessment development and methodology
- Attend Assessment Evaluation Committee meetings, as necessary (online, teleconference or in person). Then, produce a final copy of the assessment, mark scheme and syllabus
- Advise the Technical Authority and CIM Awarding Body staff on the appropriateness of the module content and assessment methods, ensuring they meet the Professional Marketing Competencies and the needs and career progression of practitioners
- Provide expertise, guidance, support for/and review module content, assessment, mark schemes and support materials
- Assist and contribute to the annual syllabi/module specification update
- Respond to assessment queries raised by Accredited Study Centres when required
For this role, you’ll need:
- Experience as an examiner at various FE/HE levels
- Professional and/or practitioner experience of professional marketing in the workplace
- Hands on experience of teaching, managing and qualification development
- Extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of marketing from both academic and practitioner perspectives
- Experience of ensuring marking standards are applied consistently over time
- Experience of module content and assessment writing
- Extensive knowledge of up-to-date and topical subject areas within marketing and their relevance to qualifications, module content and assessments
- Understanding of the Professional Marketing Competencies and career progression of practitioners within the marketing profession
- Experience in a range of assessment methodologies and how they can be used to assess different learning outcomes appropriately
- Awareness of different environments where CIM qualifications are delivered
- Experience of producing reports for a variety of audiences, which succinctly cover a range of relevant points
- A knowledge of the validation process and requirements for module content and assessments in a variety of formats
- Evidence of experience managing people – line managing and cross-functional management
- Knowledge of the CIM syllabi
- The ability to collaborate with external contractors and the Awarding Body staff
- Strong communicator, both verbal and written
- Good organisational skills
- An ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- IT literate
