Internship Position Details:
- Position Title: Technical SEO Intern
- Internship Term: Summer 2023
- Compensation: College credit [MUST be enrolled in college course]
- Desired Fields of Study: Business, Advertising, Marketing, Data Analysis, Computer Science, Non-Designated Degree Path
- Hours Desired: 15-20/week

About the Role:
The goal of this internship is to learn search engine optimization through the lens of Technical SEO. Technical SEOs are responsible for improving the technical aspects of a website in order to ensure a search engine’s crawlability, optimize visibility and increase keyword rankings. This includes SEO best practices and implementing those learnings through hands-on client projects. Build a well-rounded digital marketing skill set, and get experience working at a full-service marketing agency.
Responsibilities:
- Be prepared to learn and understand search engine optimization techniques, strategies, and processes
- Assist with Technical SEO website audits utilizing Screaming Frog and other technical SEO tools.
- Write title tags and meta descriptions.
- Assist in providing 301 redirect map recommendations
- Assist in providing Rich Snippet / Structure Data recommendations utilizing Schema Generators, templates and more.
- Implement optimizations to client websites (no coding experience required)
- Gain an understanding of Core Website Vitals and providing recommendations
- Learn and use Google Search Console, Google Analytics and other industry leading SEO tools.
- Learn & assist the SEO team with ad hoc projects, such as internal linking, keyword research & competitive audits.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Growth mindset, desire to learn and adapt quickly to ever changing world of SEO
- Strong interest in a career that blends analytics (looking at data, analytics, and performance trends) and creativity (helping write web copy and meta data), especially within the fields of search marketing, advertising, and marketing as a whole
- Computer skills: thorough understanding of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus but not required
- Basic understanding of Google Search Console
- Basic understanding of Website Development is a plus but not required
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as React, Javascript, Liquid, etc is a plus but not required
- Time management skills: ability to prioritize tasks for efficient execution
- Strong work ethic: must be self-motivated and able to take initiative
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
