We’re actively seeking a UX Architect to join the Growth Team!

The American Marketing Association is in the midst of one of the most significant transformations of its 80-year history. It is evolving to be a technology-forward organization, so that it is well equipped to adapt to the evolving needs of the marketing industry for decades to come.

We are seeking a User Experience Architect to play an important role in this work. The person in this role will assume ownership of the user experience on all user-facing systems and work in collaboration with those managing human-to-human interaction to align service plans. This individual will be involved with and lead throughout the design process from research, strategy, and prototyping to testing and refining live products.

UX Architect Core Job Responsibilities
  • Own, map, and maintain overall view of our customers'' user experiences across all relevant digital properties
  • Champion the role of UX and educate other teams when necessary on the role of UX and the critical need for user experience research, systems mapping, information architecture, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Collaborate with product owners to articulate business challenges from the customer perspective by leveraging access to data about user behavior, telling their stories, and identifying user roles and scenarios, contextual needs, expected interaction, and the metrics impacted
  • Lead UX strategy and provide guidance throughout projects, which may include influencing UX research plans, synthesizing research findings into actionable plans, developing UX strategies, creating personas and journey maps, developing information architecture, wireframing, directing or building lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes, supporting hand-off to development, reviewing dev and UI output, and involvement in usability tests.
  • Manage internal UX designer, identify the need for and manage outside design resources as needed
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand key business goals and align metrics and to understand the capabilities of our systems, our brand, and our products; those teams include but are not limited to technology, data, development, marketing, innovation, sales, communities, marketing, and customer service

What You Have
  • 7+ years of design experience, this doesn’t have to be exclusively in UX
  • Expertise in Figma, Google suite, diagramming tools, and prototyping collaboration software
  • Visual design skills coupled with the ability to translate feedback or ideas from multiple stakeholders into solutions that meet customer and business needs
  • Strong grasp of complementary disciplines and standards such as marketing strategy, SEO, accessibility, GDPR, project management, content strategy, and the jobs-to-be-done framework
  • A passion for human-centered design and a portfolio of work that demonstrates examples of your vision and ability to execute that vision in a variety of media
  • Experience managing and mentoring others
  • Experience leading design projects with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to travel (<10%).

What You May Also Have
  • Experience launching products utilizing agile methodology
  • Some programming expertise: HTML, CSS, JS
  • Designing for web experiences on Wordpress
  • Experience designing online learning solutions
