We are looking for a Digital Content and Social Media Assistant who is creative, detail-focussed, possesses fantastic communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Joining a small but passionate team you will help plan, shape, and implement the overall The Marketing Society digital content and social media strategy that plays a key role within the business.
Who are we looking for?
Our Digital Content and Social Media Assistant will own and implement our social media strategy. You’ll be a fantastic and thoughtful storyteller, living and breathing social and branded content, with a passion for growing a social following and increasing engagement across Linkedin, Twitter and Instagram. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role, reporting to and working closely with our Head of Content and Communications.
What does the role entail?
DIGITAL CONTENT
- Uploading of blogs and other content to our website
- Liaising with members and maintaining relationships with content writers, sourcing additional writers for our database
- Using multiple analytics systems to collate and track performance. Reporting to the Head of Content and Communications on what content is engaging our members, what is working and what is not, what can we improve
- Making changes to three websites as and when required
- Assisting in the content collation and writing of our two regular newsletters
SOCIAL MEDIA
- Create and schedule posts for content-led pieces, and all other initiative-based projects
- Create and schedule posts for event-led pieces for all our global hubs excl Scotland across all social platforms
- Using Social Media Analytics to collate and track performance. Reporting to Head of Content and Communications on what content is engaging our members, what is working what is not, what can we improve
- Oversee all social media content to ensure on brand and in correct tone of voice for event partners
Requirements:
- 1-2 years'' experience in social media
What you’ll need to succeed
- An interest in marketing and a desire to learn more with interest in social media
- Working knowledge of Canva, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram
- Great communications skills, written and verbal
- Great time management skills - Able to manage various tasks simultaneously and under pressure
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with co-workers
- Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Willingness to learn on the job with a creative mind
Ideally, you’ll have a passion for creating slick video content on a quick turnaround and will love to write copy that embodies our brand voice.

Note this is a hybrid role - we do not have a permanent office but come together to meet in our members offices and in event spaces. Mostly you will be working from home but will be required to attend our in-person events
